
Media Release: Surety Association of Canada Announces Appointment of Mike Cluett as Regional Director - Ontario & Atlantic Canada
February 2, 2026 – Mississauga, ON – The Surety Association of Canada (SAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Cluett to the position of Regional Director for Ontario and Atlantic Canada effective January 26, 2026.
Mr. Cluett brings over 15 years of experience in external relations, stakeholder engagement, and business development across government, corporate, and community environments. He served three terms (12 years) as a Town and Regional Councillor in Milton and Halton Region, holding various leadership roles while representing municipal and regional interests.
Previously, Mr. Cluett held fundraising relations, business and resource development positions for United Way Halton & Hamilton and Hospice Mississauga. Through these positions, he led external stakeholder engagement and partnership development initiatives. Mr. Cluett holds a Business & Commerce Diploma from Sheridan College and recently obtained the Chang School Certificate in Fundraising Management from Toronto Metropolitan University.
In this role as SAC’s Regional Director for Ontario and Atlantic Canada, Mr. Cluett will be responsible for expanding the use of surety products among construction purchasers and other bond users in Ontario and the Atlantic Canada provinces (Newfoundland & Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island) by promoting the interests of the surety industry with public bodies and other stakeholders. He will work with the Ontario and Atlantic Canada Regional Committees, the Ontario Region Commercial Surety Committee and association staff to consult with local authorities; in both public and private sectors to promote the use of surety bonds and to enhance the image of the surety industry in this key market.
