Surety Association of Canada's 30th Annual General Meeting

Members of the Surety Association of Canada (SAC) are invited to join us for our 30th Annual General Meeting.

While we would have much preferred to see all of our members in-person, we need to ensure that everyone is kept safe and healthy; therefore, our annual event will be held virtually on Thursday, September 23, 2021.

This year's event theme is: "Navigating the New Normal".

Over the past year, the surety industry has needed to implement major adjustments on how to conduct their business. In the initial days of the COVID-19 pandemic, this included the transition from in-person offices to individual dining room tables and maxing out internet bandwidths to remain connected, as well as adapting to the world of "Zoom" to conduct client and team meetings. This transition was further compounded by trying to establish balance between home and work life all in the same space.

Flash forward one year later and the surety industry has adapted to what we now refer to as the "new normal" and has remained strong, resilient, responsive and connected.

Chantal Hebert We are very pleased to announce this year’s keynote speaker, Chantal Hébert, who is an expert on the topic of navigation, specifically in precarious times.

Ms. Hébert is a national affairs writer with the Toronto Star and a guest columnist for L’Actualité. She is also a weekly participant on the political panel at Issue on the CBC’s The National, as well as Radio-Canada’s Les Coulisses du pouvoir on television and Gravel le matin on Montreal radio.

With a federal election taking place three days before the event, Ms. Hébert’s insight will be informative and timely.
